A picture is worth a thousand words. If in this case the image surprises and captivates by its beauty, it was more emotional to experience in person the Santa Cecilia Concert that the Musical Artistic Center of Jávea offered last Saturday in a unique enclave as is always the St. Bartholomew's Church and that, this time, completed its capacity in the presence of a large audience.
A concert that, if already is special, this year was still given the event was being held. The Band of the city commemorated its fiftieth anniversary. A celebration for a year has been getting closer, more than ever, our beloved band and its history.
For this reason, and given the occasion, the Saturday repertoire was carefully selected, being able to listen to topics such as Pictures at an Exhibition of Moussorgsky, a set of parts as chorus Tannhauser Wagner, the Requiem by Mozart, Nabucco Verdi, 1812 Festival Overture Tchaikovsky or Carmina Burana Carl Orff. All under the always splendid baton of its director Juan Francisco Sanjuan Rodrigo and the accompaniment of a splendid choir.
The detail of the evening was marked by the participation, among the ranks of musicians, many who over five decades of history have been part of the Musical Arts Center sharing his passion for music.
