The proposal of Town hall de Poble Nou de Benitatxell to open an ideas comxicotetion for the construction of the new multicultural center has been very well received by the architectural firms. A total of 89 projects have been submitted to the contest, and a specialized jury is already deliberating which is the best.
All of them have had the opportunity to devise a building that is in the middle of the urban center. It will be built on an urbanized plot of 637 m2 whose purchase by 217.800 euros was formalized by the mayor in the previous term. One condition will be that the building is functional and sustainable. Its location is excellent for architects to innovate in the use of natural energies. It is very well oriented and enjoys many hours of sun and light.
Regarding the amount of works presented, the mayor of the municipality, Josep Femenia, has highlighted that "It has been a success to convene this contest of ideas and a pleasant surprise the interest raised. We want an energy efficient and sustainable building, for this we will incorporate the good ideas of all the projects presented to the final draft".
From the College of Architects of Alicante value this contest very positively. Martín Lejarra, one of the invited architects and members of the jury, affirms that "It should be an example to follow for the other municipalities."
Soon we will know the winner of comxicotetion, the author will receive 2.500 euros and commissioned to write the final draft and the direction of the works. Meanwhile, the second prize will also be equipped with 2.500 euros. The third has an amount of 1.500 euros. Five special mentions will also be awarded. The jury reserves the right to declare the contest, as well as incorporate ideas from the finalists draft the winner if it is considered that the final design emerges stronger.
