The Poble Nou de Benitatxell has, at present, with 5627 people registered with 61 different nationalities, which makes it a multicultural town. The union between all the origins has been reflected in the newly created association formed by 500 Dutch residents. This Dutch club based in El Poble Nou de Benitatxel, has registered as an association to give new impetus to their claims and maintain a fluid and close contact with public administrations.
The Poblero government team expressed its support for initiatives of associations and citizen participation in the municipality and, in fact, held a meeting with the residents of this municipality. The mayor, Josep Femenia, the Councilor for Residents, Dirk Rheindorff, and the Councilor for Communication, Myra Van't Hoff, who is also Dutch, met at first hand the concerns of this group.
Both Myra and Dirk stressed the importance of all citizens actively participating in the municipality and that thanks to their initiatives can create a more united society.
