According to a statement sent by the Popular Party of Xàbia, in the plenary session of the Alicante Provincial Council, the credit modification has been approved that will allow the subsidy plan to be promoted to provide liquidity to the entrepreneurs and self-employed who are suffering and avoid, in the as far as possible, business closings and rising unemployment.

From the PP they report that of the six million euros, Xàbia will get 94.017 euros, and the city council will be in charge of processing and granting it to potential beneficiaries. The beneficiaries will be those, who have had their activity suspended as a result of the measures of the State of Alarm, or in case of maintaining it, who have reduced the invoicing corresponding to the month prior to the request for aid in the percentage established by the municipalities and at least 50% compared to the average billed in the semester prior to the start of the pandemic. Likewise, it will be taken into account that the activity has not had an increase in turnover through an increase in the volume of online or telephone business.

The maximum amount will be € 2.000 for each applicant and expenses paid between March 1 of this year and the deadline set by the municipality for submitting applications will be subsidized.

The subsidies may be used to pay for the rental of commercial premises or to cover consulting expenses, electricity, amortization of loans for the acquisition of business premises, commercial vehicles, among others ...

Rosa Cardona, spokesperson for the Popular Party in Xàbia, appreciates that the Alicante Provincial Council and its president, Carlos Mazón, are close to the xabieros who have their economic and social situation reduced as a result of COVID-19.
