Xàbia carries out this Saturday a popular campaign of waste collection in three points of the municipality

Xàbia has joined the first edition of the World Cleaning Day, which will be held on next Saturday's 15 in September, and has done so by organizing three different action points. With the aim of raising awareness about the responsibility of everyone about waste and the importance of respecting nature, the Sabbath will act in the environment of santa Llúcia and the Gorgos River.

Through the organization of the Department of Services, in collaboration with different entities such as the Fishermen's Association, IROX, Amjasa, Civil Protection, Red Cross and various private entities, the environment of Santa Llúcia will be acted on, in the circular route that It starts at Langreo Street, and on the Gorgos riverbed, as it passes through the Vía Augusta - C / Verona next to IES Nº1 - and as it passes through the Gata road, between the Camí Fontanelles and Camí Cabanes, next to the cement factory The Vibro.

Each performance will have a different meeting point for all those volunteers who want to participate. The departure time will be at 10 from Bar El Paso, Parking Santa Lucia or Mesquides Soccer Field. Councilor for Services, Kika Mata, wanted to thank all the participants "His generous collaboration in a sensitive issue such as the cleaning of public spaces".

The representative of the Fishermen's Association, Moisés Erades and Katia Dimitrie, representing the Slow Life group, two of the main collaborators, were also present. Moses has remembered that "A large part of the waste that we see in the ditches, the streets and the riverbed, of course, ends up in the sea. Acting on the land we avoid that this great amount of waste ends up in our waters and harms the marine life ".

For Katia it is urgent "Act on the conscience of people, assume our individual responsibility and stop thinking that someone will come to solve our problems. We are the consumers, the neighbors, who have to take action here and now ".

The day will end with a snack for the participants in the Riurau d'Arnauda.
