Xàbia offers seven plots to the Ministry to allocate them to social rental housing

The City Council of Xàbia has made available to the Department of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture a total of seven plots with which to integrate into the plans promoted by the Generalitat to promote public housing in
affordable rental.

Today the mayor, José Chulvi, and the councilor for Urbanism, Pepa Gisbert, have met with the regional secretary for housing, Alejandro Aguilar, to deepen about this project - included in the European Recovery and Resilience Funds managed by the Consell- and thus open the channels of collaboration between both administrations to begin to respond to the great housing need that the municipality drags.

As Chulvi has pointed out, from the Consell they have been very receptive to Xàbia's total willingness and interest in being part of this important plan. In fact, "they have told us that we are the municipality that –after Valencia city- has ceded more land, in addition to offering them economic collaboration if necessary".

For his part, the head of Housing has explained that the objective of the Department is to take advantage of the impulse of European funds to develop affordable rental housing on public land and for this a series of meetings has been initiated with the municipalities that already They have shown a willingness to join together to establish contact and establish the necessary collaboration channels to materialize these properties, specifically intended for social rental.

Both Parrilla and the mayor have agreed on the importance of opening this collaborative process and addressing an ever-increasing need in municipalities such as Xàbia, with a real estate market highly conditioned by its tourist nature.

Public officials have stressed their political will to promote projects that give young people and families the option to find decent housing at an affordable price.
