The Xàbia Folk reaches its eighteenth edition and as every year, its programming will be officially presented with a previous concert that will be this Friday, 5 in April, at 20 hours at the Casa de Cultura. This year the person in charge of opening the cycle will be the cantaor Xavier de Bétera, one of the most surprising and promising values ​​of the traditional valencià cant, and who presents his album "Imprints", in which he goes through traditional styles and styles of Valencian music accompanied by a good group of collaborators.

Programming Languages

The root music festival organized by the Department of Culture will continue at the end of April in the tent that will be installed in the Plaza de la Constitución. Thus, the 26 of April will perform the emblematic Basque folk group Korrontzi (at 22: 30 hours) and on Saturday, 27 in April, there will be a double program with two presentations: At 19 hours the folk dance group of l'Horta Rascanya will present his latest album "Auia" and 22: 30 hours, will take the stage the veteran Castilian folk group Aljibe who will bring us his new album Agua.

Finally, the Xàbia Folk will be closed from April's 28 with the traditional concert at the hermitage of Santa Llúcia. It will be at the 12 hours in charge of the Murcian group "Women with roots", who will present the disc "The ages of life" in which they do a review-homage to the female voice in the repertoires of traditional music from the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula with domestic, work or festive songs. As always, the concerts will be free of charge.
