Xàbia creates a Consell de l'Esport to channel the participation of sports clubs and agents

The Councilor for Sports of Xàbia, Alberto Tur, presented, on Tuesday, the draft of the Municipal Council of Sports of Xàbia, a new consultative and participation body with which he wants to channel all the voices involved in the local sports world in order to make them participate in the planning and promotion of sport and physical activity.

El document It has been provided to all political parties and posted on the municipal website where it will be subjected to a public consultation phase. Once this procedure has been passed and the possible allegations evaluated, it will be debated in a plenary vote.

As Tur explains, with this council they want to create a connection point between all the agents of the local sports system, as well as strengthen their relationship with the municipal government. This forum will bring together the different visions, expectations, desires, aspirations related to sport, as well as the different opinions that may arise from the projects proposed by the council.

Among the functions included in the bases of the Consell are the basic ones that are its representative character and its advisory function, and also favor that the sports policy of the City Council is adapted to the interests of the citizens, stimulate participation with debates and including their involvement in the development of strategic plans or municipal lines of action from the sports facilities themselves, such as the programs that are developed there.

With this project, the head of Sports wanted to open the council to the true protagonists, take advantage of the potential that Xàbia has in sports, with a large number of active clubs and with many initiatives and with an environment that allows the practice of countless disciplines sports

In the Culture and Sports commission held today, Tur has also provided a report on the conservation and maintenance actions that have been carried out in municipal sports facilities over the last few months, especially during the weeks that, as a result of Covid 19, are closed to the public.
