Xàbia opens the call to artists who want to exhibit in municipal art rooms

The Department of Culture of Xàbia opens the deadline to request the use of municipal exhibition spaces such as the Casa del Cable and the Lambert Arts Center. In this regard, the councilor Quico Moragues has reported in the Culture information commission of some changes included in the bases that regulate this call and that will serve to organize the seasons 2022 and until September 2023, since it has been considered to jointly offer this period for leave the entire legislature organized.

Moragues also points out that in the summer of 2022 all the rooms will be dedicated to exhibitions on Cristóbal Balenciaga, precisely the months that are most in demand for those interested in exhibiting due to the greater influx of visitors in the population. Including the summer of 2023 in the call is expected to serve as an incentive and increase the interest of visual artists to present themselves.

Exhibition at the Casa del Cable

People interested in exhibiting in the aforementioned rooms may submit their proposals until October 29 at the Casa de Cultura or via email to art@ajxabia.org with a resume of the artist, a photographic dossier of the work and a brief project of the exposure to be made.

The City Council grants the space, takes care of the insurance and the dissemination of the exhibition through municipal channels and the publication of a catalog.

The evaluation of the projects presented will be carried out by a selection committee made up of Rafaela Almenar (Espai Rambleta management team), María Tinoco (director of The Blink Project gallery / LABA Valencia Deputy Director), María Zárraga (UPV Artist / Associate Professor), Reyes Martínez (doctor in BBAA / Director of the SET ESPAI D'ART gallery) and Tomas Ruiz Company (art collector and member of the Municipal Council of Culture).

The resolution of the call will be notified to applicants during the first fortnight of November 2021.
