Triumph of José Mª García and Isabel Ferrer in the 'XIV Cursa Popular a Teulada'

The athletes, José Manuel García and Isabel Ferrer, from Club Altetismo Llebeig Xàbia, were the winners of the "XIV Cursa Popular Teulada"Fifth test Circuit a Peu Marina Alta.

A career which brought about 1.500 athletes who covered a hard route of 10 kilometers. The test was uncomfortable for runners since the route combined ups and downs forcing something good measure forces.

As happened in previous races a few meters after the start, a group was formed in which were the most powerful men in the Circuit. Together with García they traveled in that package, Younes, Cabezas, Gimeno and Durá. This group was gradually opening gap taking a few meters ahead of another more numerous where they were, Ruiz, Jimenéz, Pérez and the xabieros, Víctor Fernández and Toni Soler among others.

In the final part of the test the quality of José Manuel Garcia again demonstrated as strong change of pace it could not take any of his companions and stood alone at the finish line. His time was 34 4 minutes and seconds. The second to arrive was Juan Gimeno eleven seconds behind the winner and third place went to Moha Younes entered 25 seconds after the winner.

In the female category there is no one who can with the CA Llebeig Xàbia athlete, Mª Isabel Ferrer was again the best with a time of 39 minutes and 40 seconds ahead of Maxine McKinnon who entered 11 seconds later and the third place went to the xabiera , Cristina Roselló with a mark of 41 minutes and 18 seconds.

Among the most prominent Llebeig Athletics Club athletes were Víctor Fernández was second in Veterans B, Toni Soler who finished sixth in the senior category and Adrián Hadri who finished fourteenth in the same category. Eva Escortell the female stood at the edge of the podium as he finished in fourth place in the senior category.

After five races that the Club Altetismo Llebeig still ranks second in the team standings behind Altetismo Kilometer Club 42.
