PP: "The government stumbles upon the municipality's Industrial estate again"
The Popular Party of Xàbia has issued a statement on the situation of the industrial estate and the frequent loss of opportunities by the government to the municipality:
"It is necessary to invest in productive sectors that generate wealth and work in the municipality and be next to the most affected sectors. A government team must work to generate employment and investments but in Xàbia what we are seeing is a frequent loss of opportunities and no promotional action.
Today in Xàbia there are 400 more unemployed than in the same month of 2019, a worrying figure, even more so, if we evaluate the plenary session of November where we conclude that nothing has been done to prevent these figures from decreasing.
Setting the stage for Xàbia to be an active municipality with job opportunities is a management assignment for which having the will is not enough. It is necessary to anticipate and act in those productive sectors that need a boost, although those who have the power to promote actions to create jobs do not
is conceiving.
Xàbia should have its industrial estate in Catarroja I, it should be offering entrepreneurship and work, but because it does not have, there is no company that wants to carry out the necessary urbanization works, the award of the contract has been abandoned due to the resignation of both companies that submitted to the tender for the works.
Now, the municipal government has no choice but to entrust these urbanization works to the company that wants to carry them out for the same price, taking into account that it is an outdated project economically and technically, although the most sensible thing is to start over again. with a project updated to the regulations, prices and the needs of Xàbia.
We lose opportunities to generate employment and investments in our municipality, but even so, Xàbia has resources that continue to be wasted, as is the case in the agricultural sector.
In the future General Plan that the socialist government is drawing up, our municipal term will become mainly a rural agricultural protected area, but not by declaring its agricultural protection our municipal term is protected more. It is protected when measures are taken to revitalize the agricultural sector, a circumstance that is not occurring either.
From Populares Xàbia we are convinced that there is much to do and improve the possibilities of our municipality, process the land bank, courses for unemployed people who learn agricultural jobs, workshops that offer crop alternatives, in short, facilitate entrepreneurship in this primary sector , try to maintain what there is and at the same time avoid the abandonment of our municipal term. But above all promoting a sector that in these difficult times is an alternative to having nothing.
Business alternatives for pubs and clubs
Another sector that is adrift and that has lost direct and indirect jobs are the pubs and nightclubs of Xàbia, they by resolution of the Generalitat Valenciana are the only ones who are obliged not to work in their businesses.
From the Popular Party of Xàbia, in order for these businesses to work, it was proposed to the municipal government to enable the activity of pub and disco to the activity of cafeteria, it is a temporary and exceptional solution in the same way that it has been carried out in many municipalities of the Valencian Community.
But as there is always a "but" and since the local administration does not understand itself competent to make such a decision, the government steps out of the problem and chooses to ask the Ministry of Economy, Health and Tourism for a decision. on the origin and convenience of the proposal.
So, the local procedure is considered fulfilled and wait to see if three ministries issue their reports on whether or not in Xàbia the activity of pub and disco can be enabled to the cafeteria, we hope they do not arrive too late !!
In difficult times, the government is expected to pull the bandwagon, to promote actions that benefit the neighbors, it is not expected only to have a lot of will, actions are expected, but for the moment there is no industrial estate in
Xàbia, the agricultural sector is turned off and the nightlife sector does not raise the blind. "
