Many neighbors come with their pets to the blessing of San Antonio in Duanes de la Mar
The marine neighborhood of Duanes de la Mar celebrated today, January 17, the feast of San Antonio Abad, patron of animals. The central events have been organized by La Penya La Burrera, which since the early hours of the morning have filled the streets of the harbor with atmosphere. At 12:00 hours the Eucharist has taken place in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto in honor of the patron where the image of the saint has also been delivered to the winner and the traditional bread blessing.
Then the walkway began to the seafront for the blessing of animals by Father Benjamin where numerous neighbors waited with their pets for the moment to receive the blessing. At the end, Penya La Burrera returned the image of the saint to the Parish and a wine of honor was celebrated. The festive events continue in the afternoon with a chocolate, at 18 pm, at the fairgrounds.
