New recreational-sports area of Jávea Park: this is the project presented by the Xàbia City Council
The Xàbia City Council has approved today in the Urban Planning commission to request a subsidy to the Diputación for the improvement project in Jávea Park with which it will create a recreational-sports area for the neighborhood, a space for leisure, sports and socialization for all ages .
In response to neighborhood demand, the City Council has been working for months on a comprehensive reform that will serve to improve the facilities and services in the area, completely changing the face of an area that shows deterioration due to vandalism and obsolete facilities for another that is a benchmark in the Arenal and within the municipality itself.
The expected execution period for the works is two and a half months and the budget is 463.317 euros. The project organizes the space into three areas:
- At North side A play area will be set up -differentiated from each other by the installation of a multi-coloured fence- where the children's play area (from two to six years) will reside with swings, slide and game modules, seesaw, play panels and the play area. Primary games (over 6 years old) with a games module themed as a "house" and fire truck, trampoline jumpers, swings and seesaw.
- At West Side There will be a multi-sport court with half a basketball field (with an anti-vandal basket) and two multi-goal elements.
- Finally, in the central zone trees will be planted on the plot to provide shade, three ping pong tables and two areas covered by sails will be installed, where chess and multigame tables will be located and there will be benches.
The project marks three entrances improving accessibility and a rehabilitation of the perimeter fence. The lighting (with led streetlights) will also be improved both around the plot and in the different areas of use and the system will be left pre-installed so that in the future it will have a video surveillance camera that allows increasing the security of the enclosure.
Finally, to provide the plot with all the services, various drinking water supply points will be created through the arrangement of fountains, bike racks, benches and litter bins will be installed.
All this is intended to create an urban environment protected from vandalism, a great space for fun for all ages, as well as compliance with the necessary security measures.
