Notable attendees success of Masculinity Workshop organized by the Open University in Xàbia
The Associated Center of the UNED Dénia held at the Social Center Xàbia one New Masculinities workshop. The initiative was given by psychologist Maria Dolores Martinez Hernandez, coordinator of the Observatory for Equality Associated Center of the UNED Dénia. This workshop brought together a number of attendees was framed within the program activities carried out to commemorate the UNED International Women's Day.
In the presentation were present the director of the Associated Center of the UNED of Dénia, Raquel Martí; the Councilor for Equality of the Town Council of Xàbia, Montse Villaverde; and the Autonomic Secretary of Social Inclusion and the Valencian Agency for Equality, Alberto Ibáñez Mezquita. All three stressed the importance of working in values education to instill in children and young people the respect between genders and equal opportunities between men and women.
Raquel Martí welcomed the cooperation and willingness of the Municipal Corporation Xàbia also reiterate the commitment of the Associated Center of the UNED Dénia for gender equality through actions, studies and initiatives being developed by the Observatory for Equality since its set up. He also referred to the will you have to continue being a reference in the region in this as in other educational and social matters.
In the same vein Montse Villaverde who praised the organization of these workshops and educational sessions highlighting the commitment of the municipality of Xàbia in the struggle for gender equality ruled.

The regional secretary referred to the complexity involved in equality work in rural areas and the need to influence prevention. Also, he noted that the rehabilitation of offenders necessary.
The workshop sought to unmask those parts of the social structure dominated by a male patriarchal system. During the session it expressed the need for man to change certain attitudes to create a more balanced society.
