Xàbia students raise awareness of the importance of caring for the sea with an exhibition
Yesterday, June 16, on the occasion of the World Day of Sea Turtles, a species threatened by pollution caused by human action, several murals were displayed in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Xàbia, made by students from the different centers educational institutions of Xàbia with the aim of transferring to citizens the importance of caring for the sea.
With this activity, in which marine life is reflected in each work, an attempt is made to raise awareness and sensitize the population that the sea begins in the town and not only on the beach. An action that gives continuity to the campaign promoted by Rotary Club 'El Mar starts here'.
Marine litter, pollution, degradation or loss of species habitats as a consequence of actions derived from human activities are issues with which students want to sensitize citizens and involve them in their daily actions.
