January 28 from 2020 - 12: 10

The Popular Party filed a motion as a result of the storm suffered last week. The popular asked in the municipal plenary to study the actions and preventive measures to be carried out to avoid, reduce or mitigate the impact of floods, rains and maritime storms.

Likewise, the Popular group also requested an urgent grant of aid by the different administrations to those affected by the storm Gloria in which he agreed:

In the debate, the mayor of Xàbia commented that this motion "It saddens me. I do not understand the motion when they are already being made". Chulvi said the technicians are making the assessments, the Council of Ministers meets tomorrow "And I would have understood that motion within a month. The motion casts doubt on the work being done. We are going to ask for all the help."

In the vote, the PSOE voted against and the rest of the parties supported the motion, so it did not succeed. The full motion can be consulted here: PP motion on the temporary Gloria

The debate continued in the question and answer section, where the popular councilor, Rosa Cardona, affirmed that the city council has done its homework, "and there is no bad intention in the motion". The same opinion was Juan Cardona, spokesman for Compromís, "nobody doubts your work but in the plenary session you can talk about everything".

Citizens Motion

Citizens' motion to support constitutional bodies and urge the Central Government not to make concessions to independence groups, was on the agenda and did not prosper. The spokesman of the formation,
Enrique Escrivá, affirmed that "No ideology should be above the Constitution."

From Compromís, Juan Cardona, said they were not going to support this motion "because we believe in democracy". From Citizens for Jávea they abstained in the vote "We want the best for Xàbia and we are not interested in what happens in other institutions."

For its part, the popular spokeswoman, Rosa Cardona, voted in favor arguing that the president of the government says one thing and does a different one. From the PSOE, the mayor expressed the rejection of the motion, "The anger in the Congress of Deputies in the City of Xàbia is not understood. We will not allow the plenary to be a confrontation of blasphemy. The Congress is made up of legal parties."
