José Chulvi and his candidates (PSOE) are supported by Xàbia in the presentation of the list
The town of Xàbia has already put a face to the 24 people (21 + 3 substitutes) that make up the list of PSOE candidates for the next municipal elections. A candidacy, which once again, is headed by José Chulvi, who has been in charge of the local government for 12 years.
The presentation ceremony, held in the Plaza de la Iglesia, has served so that residents of Xàbia could meet each of the people who make up the socialist team, since the names were announced last February.
A team that among the top 11 places adds up to five new additions and that Chulvi has outlined that it is "a renewed formation, with people who come from different fields of public and private management, and provide us with experience, stability, talent and Illusion This is a project with more strength, more experience and more enthusiasm than ever”.
The meeting featured music by two members of the local rock group, PINKA, Guillermo and Joan Bolufer, and with the presence and interventions of Diana Morant, Minister of Science and Innovation, and Alejandro Soler, Secretary General of the PSOE in Alicante province.
Both Soler and Morant have expressed "the good management of Chulvi at the head of the consistory." "You won in 2011 thanks to the support of the people and you have paid it back by dedicating yourself to the people and opening the doors to everyone. As you said once, your team is the people and I learned from you," the minister said at the event.
Likewise, in the act it has been shown through a video, what has been this last legislature. A summary in which the negative cases suffered (such as Gloria, the pandemic) were narrated, as well as the actions that have been carried out for the well-being of citizens (more pedestrian areas, a car-free Primer Montañar or the support and economic aid to families and companies in the face of the health crisis).
In this sense, the current mayor of Xàbia and Socialist Party candidate for mayor for the 2023-2027 legislature, has revealed, after the presentation of his entire team, what his future plans are and how Xàbia has changed in recent years .
Chulvi has affirmed that not everything has gone as expected; referring to the Auditorium (a work that has been abandoned up to two times by the winning companies), "but we have managed to make the much-demanded swimming pool a reality".
"These four years we have experienced a situation that we never expected. The pandemic made us be even more active and allocate more social resources. Xàbia has the lowest unemployment rate in the Community and although some may find it wrong, I am proud that our team has worked in the line of sustainability protecting the caves from overcrowding, protecting m2 of landscape and giving space to citizens with the pedestrianization of streets or Primer Montañar", recalled the number 1 on the socialist list.
Regarding his plans for the future, the mayor has outlined that housing will be one of his main objectives; "We will create housing for social rental. We have been the third municipality in the Community that houses contributed to the Generalitat for its construction and at the moment 64 will be carried out. We will also regulate tourist rentals because we do not want the people of Xàbia to leave because of of prices. Xàbia is its people".
