The mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, together with the councilor Montse Villaverde and councilor for the Treasury, Ximo Segarra, have announced, via telematics, which will be the municipal line to reactivate the economy of the town after the effect suffered by the coronavirus crisis .
Chulvi has indicated that the municipal aid plan is divided into two parts: social, which guarantees resources for the neediest families, and economic, which includes direct aid and job maintenance. Likewise, the first has highlighted that the municipal accounts are healthy, "which will allow to allocate about 2,8 million euros to Social Services, which represents 20% of the surplus of the session."
For its part, Segarra has indicated that at the end of 2019, the City Council has a surplus of just over 14 million euros, which will allow it to allocate about 2,8 million euros to social spending as approved by the Central Government.
Chulvi recalled that the Xàbia City Council is on the side of the residents of Xàbia and is doing everything possible to reactivate the situation in each of the sectors; "We have already announced the suspension and refund of the public highway occupancy rate and the Amjasa social fund was created with a million euros to help those who are in difficulty in taking on water bills, which are currently paralyzed."
José Chulvi has ensured that the City Council complies with the demanding laws of financial stability and spending and awaits the Government's roadmap to find out if it can take part of the surplus funds to be able to define what the specific contributions will be to business aid. or self-employed.
