Since last July 1, Xàbia hosts The Balenciaga Century, an entire cultural program that revolves around the most international master of haute couture, Cristóbal Balenciaga. Today marks one month since the opening of the exhibitions and more than 10.000 visits have been counted in a single month of activity.
The most visited rooms
The most successful room is the Lambert Arts Center (in Casa de Tena, Carrer Major 40), with 4.096 registered visitors. It is the one that shows the time of great plenitude of the sewing master, with his most significant pieces (day suits, cocktail and evening suits, coats and wedding dresses), as well as photographs, paintings and other objects.
To these must be added the 3.370 visits to the Museum room, which evokes Balenciaga's early years in fashion. Also, 2.317 people have passed through the Casa del Cable to discover his disciples like Felisa and José Luis, Villahierro, Ungaro or Givencgy. In total, 9.783 visitors in addition to the hundreds who participated in the opening day, which exceeds 10.000 visits in one month.
The Councilor for Culture Xabienc, Quico Moragues, has shown his great satisfaction at verifying the attraction that the exhibition is being for the cultural halls of the municipality and, as a consequence, to revitalize both the Historic Center and Duanes by the circuit that this sample distributed among three halls supposes.
Extension of hours
To give people who work during the week more options to visit, Culture has chosen to extend the opening hours of the rooms and the Soler Blasco Museum during August and September, making it easier for all of them to open on Sunday mornings.
In this way, the Lambert Museum and Arts Center will open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. and from 18:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m. .
La Casa del Cable will continue to open during August from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. and from 19:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m., as well as on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. In September the morning hours will be the same while the afternoons will be from 18:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m.
Finally, it should be remembered that, within the activities parallel to the exhibition The Balenciaga Century, this Friday, August 5, the round table will be held Dialogues with Balenciaga at the Atelier de Bataille Living (Brussels street, 8) with the participation of Sandra Mira, Candela Albert and Jessica Bataille. Admission will be free.
