The Sant Antoni Lighthouse project: Xàbia will try to get funding in Europe

The Valencian candidate to the European Parliament, Inmaculada Rodríguez-Piñero, visited yesterday Friday, along with the mayor and socialist candidate for the mayor of Xábia, Jose Chulvi, the facilities of the Lighthouse of Sant Antoni de Xàbia, created in 1865, to know first hand the place and the first brushstrokes on the City Council's project in this space, the Environmental Interpretation Center and Reception Center of the Montgó Natural Park.

As indicated by the mayor of Xàbia, "Although there is still no budget, because we are working on the project, we know that the rehabilitation works to be carried out will have a high cost, so it would help to receive grants from European funds.". And, the goal of the PSOE is to create in the Faro, the Interpretation Center of the Marine Reserve. So far, the City has managed the transfer of this building that was owned by the Port Authority.

The candidate to the European Parliament has shown enthusiasm with this initiative that aims to be a didactic classroom and has committed to get European funds for the project "Since a firm and determined commitment, an example of heritage and environmental preservation".

Chulvi made mention of the civic demonstration that showed an absolute refusal to turn the lighthouse into a hotel.

Support for elections

Subsequently, the candidate for the European Parliament has participated in the act of distribution of electoral propaganda of the PSOE of Xàbia on the Arenal beach. Rodríguez-Piñero has spoken with neighbors and residents and has explained the socialist proposals for the elections on May 26.
