This was announced by the president of the Local Board, Fernando Piles, during the presentation of this year's book and special holidays, since they commemorate 40 years of celebration in Xàbia.

Piles said he has spoken "personally" with García Margallo "and he has promised me that on July 14 he will be proclaiming the Moors and Christians holidays".

The presentation of the book of 40 anniversary of the festivities of Moors and Christians in Xàbia took place in the Fisherman's House, and Piles was surrounded by the mora and Christian flag-bearers, Paula Andrés and María Buigues and Captain Virginia Castellano.

The president had words of thanks for Emilio Bañuls and Florencio Mata and a special mention for Pepe Cardona, The Rull, which speaks in the book of the beginning of the party, a document, according to Piles, "that you all have to read".

The event was attended by the councilor for tourism, Toni Miragall and the mayor, José Chulvi. Both thanked the effort made by the festive board for the parties to go out, highlighting that the story of the party at the end are some documents to keep, "It's not easy to celebrate 40 years of partying", Chulvi said.

In the recognition section, this year's festivities will recognize with the Sant Jaume awards a Pepe Such, in memoriam, Jaime Martín Villalba and Emilio Bañuls. All of them "more than deserved awards", the president pointed out. The positive note that Piles said is that this year there is no regret for the lack of any festive.
