The Xàbia City Council has organized its economic resources in order to have the necessary funds available to be able to give a social response and support the companies that need it in this second year of crisis coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic.

As advanced by the Councilor for the Treasury, Ximo Segarra, in the next plenary session a modification of credits of more than 2 million euros will be put to the vote, which will be used for both basic aid and aid to self-employed and entrepreneurs.

Specifically, 1 million euros are reserved for a new support plan for sectors affected by the crisis and another 5 for the Social Services budget for basic needs, in addition to the 500.000 euros they already had available.

In total, Xàbia already has 750.000 euros ready for checks for food, medicine or basic services such as rent, electricity or water supply.

The Consistory also moves 180.000 euros to reinforce the Social Care department team that is managing all requests for help and that since the pandemic began has been reorganized to provide service in the morning and afternoon.

In the modification of credits, a service related to tourism is also planned. Specifically, 80.000 euros are incorporated in order, if sanitary conditions allow it, to be able to recover the public transport service to La Granadella cove.
