This decision was taken last Monday at the Local Government Board, which approved, for the second time, an extension of the contract. The extension of the annual contract amounts to 312.000 euros and for next year a new contract will be tendered.

The services provided by the guards and lifeguards will start the next 1 in June at the Arenal beach and from the 15 day in June the first aid and surveillance service will start at Grava and Cala de la Granadella only during the weekend .

From the 1 in July, the surveillance will be permanent seven days a week from 11 to 19 hours on the five beaches where they will serve: Arenal, Granadella, Grava, Benissero and Barraca (Portitxol). In the case of the Arenal beach, the surveillance schedule will be from 10 to 20 hours.
