Hundreds of people attend the blessing of animals in Sant Antoni de Xàbia
This Sunday, one of the central events of the festivities in honor of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of animals, the blessing of animals, has been held in Xàbia. At 11:00 a.m. the cavalry parade began and later the traditional blessing took place in the Plaza de la Constitución. An act that has been massive, since hundreds of people have come to this appointment with their pet.
Dogs, cats, canaries, guinea pigs, hamsters, horses and donkeys have passed through the image of Sant Antoni, who presided over the stage, and they have received a blessing from the parish priest, as well as blessed bread and a picture of the saint.
With this celebration, the work from the El Tiraset Equestrian Club for maintaining traditions and reorganizing this massive event is revealed.
Cremà del Pi
But during the weekend, the festivities in honor of Sant Antoni had more activities. On Saturday morning the transfer of the Pi took place to proceed, during the night, to the Cremà. Both events were also carried out by the El Tiraset equestrian activities club.
