Chulvi asks the Board of the Montgó Natural Park a solution to the repair of the roads in this area

The mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, went yesterday to the Governing Board of the Montgó Natural Park where he requested a solution to the state of the roads in the Park area. Chulvi reported to those responsible for the Park the problems experienced by both the City Council and individuals when repairing the roads.

The first mayor pointed out that as of today, the General Uses Master Plan (PRUG) of Montgó only admits the use of gravel, a material that deteriorates easily in each episode of rains, and that leaves large holes in the roads preventing, sometimes access to residents.

José Chulvi has pointed out that since this regulation was approved, the construction material has evolved and there are more solid and durable alternatives that are also respectful of the environment, which is why he has asked that allowing them be studied in the Montgó area.

Likewise, the mayor made other requests such as collaboration in controlling the influx of visitors to Cap de Sant Antoni or illegal camping in the recreational area, help in the cleaning and maintenance of the lime kilns that the City Council rehabilitated in 2015, as well how to carry out thinning actions on the plain to reduce the high density of pine trees that have re-sprung after the last fire.

The mayor also informed the members of the Governing Board of the municipality's efforts to obtain the transfer of the Cap de Sant Antoni lighthouse building (which will become an interpretation center for the marine reserve)

Faced with these requests, the management of the Natural Park has shown a good predisposition to meet the needs raised by the Xàbia City Council.
