The Dénia Hospital Pharmacy team has been awarded at the XIV National Conference, organized by the Association of Health Administrators, recently held in Toledo.
The work, presented by the Administrative Henriett Koszecz; the Head of the Pharmacy Service, Dr. Jaime Poquet; and the assistant pharmacist, Alberto Martí, has received the second prize in the poster category. At the meeting, in which 160 health administrative professionals participated, a total of 59 oral communications and posters were presented.
Under the title "Evolution of the management of foreign medicines in the Department of Health of Dénia" the team offers an analysis, between 2016-2021, of the medications not available in Spain and that have had to be requested from other countries, through the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products -AEMPS-.
In the last five years, the Dénia Hospital has made almost 1.500 requests for foreign medicines. The most requested are Liothyronine sodium (8.15%), Propylthiouracil (6.33%) and Dapsone (5.52%). Most of the dispensing is done through the Outpatient Pharmaceutical Unit, followed by the hospital stock and Primary Care.
