    Wow !
I spent my childhood summers in Javea .. aged 8-17 .. staying, with my parents at The Hotel Javea, throughout the 60s.
I watched the pillars of this building rise from the bare ground, talked to the locals & architect about the concepts, met the priest whilst eating tapas at the end of a beautiful day and watching the ‘sardinos’ come in but I never saw it completed.
    I have often dreamed & wondered ..
    Today, serendipity ..
I live in the bush in Australia & work with gifted children, in Melbourne.
    I have somehow contracted COVID..
    .. so ..
here I am, in isolation, in the middle of a miserable wet winter, watching kookaburras hunt for worms and questioning the meaning of life .. when .. a link to the Church of Our Lady of Loreto appeared on my laptop !!
    .
I am overwhelmed by the simple beauty of this church and the achievement of all those gifted people who have manifested human dreams by creating such a building and such a space.
    .
Yes, from the beginning, the modern concrete pillars always felt to me like sore thumbs sticking out as a mis-fits in such a village but perhaps that’s part of the building’s purpose .. to arouse curiosity and draw people in, to the space that has been created.
    .
As Lao Tzu said in The Tao Te Ching ..
“Clay is fashioned into vessels; but it is on their empty hollowness, that their use depends.”
    .
Perhaps this beautiful space will offer peace to those curious ones it draws in, give calm to troubled minds, provide the joy of music .. who knows .. it has certainly inspired me to continue working with gifted young minds and encourage them to use their gifts to manifest dreams and give to the world.
    .
    Thank You for your site
