El Club Nautico de Javea This morning, the Jávea Yacht Club presented its 50th Sailing Week, a very special edition that will be held from 16 to 24 August. During these days, nearly 380 boats and more than 700 people will meet to compete in an event that brings together different sailing and motorboating competitions, as well as social and cultural events. "We are very pleased to reach the 50th edition as it represents the consolidation of a historic regatta that has continued to have an integrative character of what sailing means, both light and cruising and other social events," said Carlos Carbonell, Sailing member of the Jávea Yacht Club.
This year's extensive program begins on August 16 at 12 noon, with the Rodolfo Tomás Optimist Trophy, in which 150 boys and girls from different parts of the world will compete. This has already become an international regatta, proof of this has been the Top Class Optimist World Meeting, which was held from August 13 to 15, in which they have trained, for the Optimist World Championship, which will be held in Argentina, the Spanish Optimist team, of which Carlos Carbonell is a part, and the German team, with coaches Fernando Alegre and Riki Stadel.
The competition will continue with the Windsurfing and 420 Trophy, which will be held on August 19 and 20, on the 21st with the Veterans Trophy and on the 22nd and 23rd with the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy "Regatta" and "Club" cruiser regatta. On August 24, at 8:30 a.m. the 3 Cabos Regularity Trophy (motorboating) is held and at 12 p.m. the Comodoro Federico Gimeno Trophy.

Social program
Socially, the highlight is the inauguration of the Javier Mariscal exhibition, which is the image of the 50th Sailing Week poster, and which will be exhibited in the Social Hall of the Jávea Yacht Club until August 31. The exhibition brings together 24 illustrations with the theme of the Marina Alta, people from the club and Xàbia. It is recent work and some of the works are from 20 years ago. "It is a pride that Mariscal, who has been visiting the region for a long time, is the image for this 50th anniversary."
On August 21 the Light Sailing Festival will be held, on August 22 at 20 p.m. the traditional Social Paella Contest, on the 23rd the children's party with Pirate Baptism, castles and games. On August 24 at 21 p.m. the trophies and closing dinner will be presented.
