Xàbia lived its last day of festivities in honor of Jesús Nazareno

The Solemn Eucharist, the mascletà, the procession of Jesús Nazareno ascent to the Calvary Chapel and the firing of a fireworks display put an end to the long-awaited festivities. After three years of hiatus due to the health crisis due to the coronavirus, Xàbia has gone out to enjoy all the acts and show her devotion to the Nazarene.

Yesterday, May 3, the big and last day of the festivities, the neighbors participated in each of the events. From early in the morning, the festive atmosphere was lived in the street with the tolling of bells and the awakening. At noon, the Church of St. Bartholomew it completed its capacity in the celebration of the Solemn Eucharist in honor of Jesús Nazareno, which was sung by the Grup Polifònic Ars Nova.

In the Parish, the delivery, by the Brotherhood of the Nazarene, of the diplomas and badges to the foremen of this year was also carried out and the traditional raffle was held to find out who will be the foremen of next year. At the end, the mascletà was fired from the Plaza de la Constitución.

In the afternoon, the procession in which the image of Jesús Nazareno walked through the streets of the historic center of Xàbia until arriving at the Ermita del Calvario and the fireworks display put an end to these emotional and special festivities in honor of Jesús Nazareno.
