In the plenary session of Javea Town Hall held this past Monday, a motion was presented by the mayor, requesting the Consell request that the festivities in honor of the Mare de Déu de Loreto be declared Festivals of Local Tourist Interest, a motion that was unanimously approved by all political parties,
José Chulvi pointed out in the motion that the festivities of the Mare de Déu de Loreto have been, for more than 100 years, one of the central festivals of the life of Xàbia that express devotion, recreational, social, sports and cultural manifestations that involve a whole town despite being in Duanes.
The first mayor reviewed the events that bring together these festivities and that bring together thousands of people, both residents of Xàbia and visitors, among which the fireworks castle launched from the La Grava Beach.
So, now, with the approval of the entire corporation, the procedures for the Ministry of Tourism to study the application and declare on September 8 as a Festival of Local Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community coinciding with the celebration of the Day of the Virgin of Loreto.
