The need to increase blood reserves in the province of Alicante is urgent, therefore, with only two days of the start of the 2019, the blood donation calendar in Xàbia starts.
In the afternoon of today, Wednesday 2 of January, from 17 to 20: 30 hours, a collection is planned in the Health Center of the town. This year's campaign was: This Christmas, your donation is the best gift, so the Councilor for Health of Xàbia, Pilar Zamora, has encouraged the public to participate in this event; "The donation day has been advanced two weeks according to the forecast due to the lack of need for blood in hospitals in the province. This 2019 we propose more solidarity."
Zamora took the opportunity to thank all the people who attended the collections throughout 2018, especially the new donors who are constantly adding to this solidarity action every year. According to data from the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community, 2018 launched 57 new donors in Xàbia.
