El Carnival returns to Xàbia after a year of absence due to the pandemic. In view of the positive evolution of the health incidence, the Department of Fiestas, in collaboration with the Fogueres Commission, has decided to promote
this festive day with some changes to increase security.
The Carnival will be held next Saturday, February 26, in the Plaza de la Constitución. This time there will be no tent like other years, so the party will be outdoors, facilitating ventilation and dispersal of attendees. The use of a mask will also be mandatory to participate in the parades.
As usual, there will be two programs: one in the afternoon, designed for the little ones, and another at night focused on the adult public.
The children's party will begin at 17:0 p.m., with a carnival parade from Plaza Marina Alta to Plaza de la Constitución. There will be prizes for the best costumes in the baby (4 to 5 years old), children's (12 to XNUMX years old) and comparsa categories.
To participate in the contest you must register in the Marina Alta square from 16:30 p.m. or in advance at Casal Foguerer (Plaza Constitución) on Thursday, February 24, from 19:23 p.m., the day on which Those who want to compete for the adult prizes (individual, couple or troupe) can also sign up. Those who prefer to register at the last minute can do so on the same Saturday from XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución.
After the children's parade there will be a mini mobile disco, musical games and the award ceremony for the contest, animated by dancers and entertainers.
At night the party will be concentrated in the Plaza de la Constitución with a parade and musical entertainment with the DJ's, Juan Hdz and Félix Olivares.
From the Department of Fiestas they have thanked the collaboration of the Xàbia merchant associations in the prizes of the contest and the Cafe L'Encant. Also the involvement of the fifths of 2021 and 2022, who participate in the organization of the Carnivals.
