Xàbia receives the holidays with the beach season and the forest surveillance service activated

13 2022 April - 10: 26

The municipalities of the Marina Alta are preparing for the Holy Week holidays and the arrival of Easter and, as such, Xàbia will start the special surveillance and forestry service tomorrow.

As explained by the councilor for security and emergency prevention, Juan Ortolá, Civil Protection will deploy a team of six people from Holy Thursday to Easter Monday and the Sant Vicent bridge. As usual, they will be located at strategic points with good visibility in the municipal district and at high-frequency points, such as the Pinosol park.

Ortolá asks the population for caution, especially when carrying out activities that may pose a risk of fire (barbecues or use of pyrotechnics). In addition, remember that, in compliance with the local burning plan, between Holy Thursday and Sant Vicent Monday, agricultural burning is prohibited in areas that are less than 500 meters from forest masses. If Alert 3 is decreed (the alert level can be checked on the website www.112cv.gva.es), the use of camping gas and paella pans in camping areas or recreational areas is also prohibited.

On the other hand, from the council of Playas, the mayor Tony Miragall informs that, this Thursday, Red Cross Xàbia resumes the surveillance and lifeguard service in the Arenal Beach, which was already operational last weekend. In this way, it will be active again from this Thursday to next Monday and in Sant Vicent.

This will mean the official start of the beach season, since, with the current surveillance contract, the service in Arenal will already be provided every weekend in May.
