The Local Police of Xabia attended last week the second meeting of the Committee of Expert Advisors and the Associated Cities of PACTESUR held in the Town hall from Edinburgh (Scotland).
The Xàbia Police was represented by the Chief Intendant, José Antonio Monfort, and the agent Fernando Gaona, who is the coordinator in the municipality of this European security project. Topics of great interest were discussed at the forum, such as the protection of public space against all kinds of risks or threats and their repercussions at the local level.
In the meeting the possible solutions of response to these threats were also discussed. The police officers of Xàbia had the opportunity to discuss and share with the rest of European representatives the security measures and protocols that are applied in different cities and that seek to provide greater peace of mind for citizens
PACTESUR is a European-level project focused on urban security, which seeks to strengthen cooperation and convergent strategies in this challenge. Xàbia is one of the founding municipalities along with other European tourist cities such as Nice, Liege, Berlin, London, Athens, Lisbon or Turin, among others. It is funded by the European Union.
