Xàbia participates in the conference 'Child Friendly Cities' held in Alcoi

La Councilor for Education and childhood of Xàbia, Montse Villaverde, He has participated today in the First Child Friendly Cities Conference in the province of Alicante, held at CADA IVAM in Alcoi. The meeting has been co-organized by UNICEF and the municipalities of Alcoi, Xàbia and Teulada Moraira, the only three municipalities in the province that already have this recognition.

Villaverde has been at the inauguration of this forum for technicians and public representatives together with the mayor of Alcoi, Toni Francés and the mayor of Youth from Teulada-Moraira, Aitor Llobell. Talks and workshops are planned throughout the day to encourage the exchange of experiences in favor of childhood and adolescence.

In this sense, Xàbia has presented in a workshop how to set up a council for children's participation, explaining how the Consell dels Xiquets works.

Remember that, since October of 2018, Xàbia has the recognition Child Friendly City UNICEF grants to local administrations committed to the fulfillment of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
