At noon today Wednesday, the plaza del Javea Town Hall It has once again become the place of concentration to condemn, with a minute of silence, the latest murder due to sexist violence that occurred in the neighboring town of Moraira.

With this act, Xàbia has shown its support for all the victims of this scourge and their families, as well as their rejection of this fact.

Councilwoman equality, Montse Villaverde, accompanied by councilors and neighbors, has read a manifesto in which he expressed his condemnation of sexist violence.

"Today we will keep a minute of silence again for a victim of gender violence. Again, machismo hits us in the most terrifying and cruel way; the murder. Alina, thirty-six, neighbor of Moraira, mother of a thirteen-year-old child years ago he appeared inside a murdered container, hours later his ex-partner surrendered to the Civil Guard.

Alina is the official victim number 11 in Spain, but it is not just a number. It is a life story ended abruptly, unfairly. It is the story of a child who is orphaned. It is the story of many women who endure macho violence every day for the simple fact of being women and today they question whether tomorrow they will not be the headlines of the newspapers.

Today we condemn this murder, show our rejection and reaffirm our commitment and the fight against violence against women. Then we will keep a minute of silence in solidarity with the victims and their families. "
