Modernizing the sewerage system is, as of today, marked as a priority on the political agenda of the Javea Town Hall. As agreed in the last plenary session, the Corporation has assumed that the sanitation system needs
be evaluated globally to find out what its deficiencies are and the actions that the municipality can take to improve it and reduce its impact on the environment.
The intention is to prepare a kind of master plan with the actions -sequenced- necessary to alleviate deficiencies and update the sanitation network, the main infrastructure for the management of wastewater, rainwater and industrial.
Today, the spokesmen of all the parties have held the first meeting exclusively dedicated to sewerage and have agreed on how to face the process.
At the end of the meeting, the mayor, José Chulvi, has explained that the first agreement reached is to commission a technical report on the situation of the network. “We agree that in order to carry out correct management and propose corrective actions, the main thing is to have a good knowledge of the entire system: the kilometers and locations of pipes, the primary and secondary treatment plants in operation, the status of all the infrastructures, the problems detected and related municipal projects, such as the new collectors ”has agreed.
Chulvi added that the analysis will begin with a specialized technical inspection for which the use of specific cameras for pipes will be contracted.
Information will also be collected from the Public Entity of Wastewater Sanitation of the Valencian Community (EPSAR-CV), dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture, which provides a report on the Sanitation and Treatment service of the WWTP of Xàbia, whose management has awarded under concession to the company DAM- Sav Agricultores de la Vega de Valencia.
The spokespersons have agreed to set the first monographic commission within 15 days.
