Xàbia increases the contract of the lifeguard service in order to extend the season in which the beaches have surveillance

El Javea Town Hall The hiring process has opened the surveillance, first aid and sanitary land transport service on the beaches of the municipality. The contract increases to 453.100 euros per year (about
100.000 euros more than the previous one) and will be valid for two years, extendable for two more.

Councilman beaches, Tony Miragall, explained that, in view of the trends in the use of the beaches - increasingly seasonally adjusted - the service has been resized to respond to security needs: the guard posts will be active from May to October at least. The service is also adapted to the current sanitary reality, since the specifications include specifications in terms of material, characteristics of the
aid stations and the organization of the team in accordance with the regulations on Covid prevention.

The specifications, which have been approved by a mayoral resolution and sent to the public procurement platform, establish the criteria that will be evaluated for the award of the contract: the financial offer will have a weight of 60% of the score and the other 40% It will be a summation of the service provision project, the organization and structure of the service, the human resources, materials and equipment.

In addition, the provision of supplementary material (such as kayaks, defibrillators, amphibious chairs or medicalization of posts, the creation of a bag of overtime to address unforeseeable situations (health-epidemiological, weather, or due to expansion of the holiday calendar, etc ...), the provision of complementary services (such as transport and care for people with functional diversity on the beaches, search systems for missing persons) or the implementation of computer tools and Apps.

The beaches of the Xàbia coast are a natural environment that receives a large influx of people, especially during the summer months. This makes prevention, rescue and first aid in them a fundamental task to solve critical situations that pose a serious and immediate danger to people's lives.

With this service, the various aid stations on the beaches will be provided, any dangerous situation will be reported, the safety of users will be ensured, and it will assist anyone in need, transferring them to the nearest hospital if necessary.
