La municipal library de Xàbia dedicates this year's Book Week to one of the most important playwrights in the Valencian language and a key figure in contemporary Valencian nationalism, Joan Fuster.
Fuster is considered the most important essayist in the Catalan language of the XNUMXth century and has carried out research and editorial work in different areas such as linguistics, history and philosophy.
The program starts on Wednesday, April 20 (at 19:XNUMX p.m. in the Historic Center Library) with the reading of one of his most emblematic books, “Aforismes”, some small verbal fantasies that are still capable of captivating us today. Some small capsules of doctrine that always fascinated him and that deal with all kinds of human issues from a provocative and fun perspective.
On Thursday 21 there will be a luxury speaker such as the poet, narrator and translator Josep Piera who will introduce us to the world of Fuster with his conference “Discover the country of the Valencians”. The talk will be at House of Culture to 20 hours.
The commemoration will close with an activity for all audiences on Saturday, April 23 at 12 noon in the Plaza de la Iglesia. It is "L'Argila i Trobaversos" a show of stories and poems for children from zero to ninety years old.
