El Javea Town Hall has approved today in plenary session and unanimously a new line of economic aid in response to the crisis unleashed by the COVID pandemic.
The executive chaired by José Chulvi has articulated an ordinance by which any unemployed person who has registered as self-employed between March 1 and December 31, 2020 will receive a subsidy of 1.000 euros. With this, the Consistory wants to shelter those who have opted for self-employment or opened a new business despite the adverse circumstances that the economy has experienced this year.
This line of aid is endowed with a budget of 30.000 euros and is open to individual self-employed, collaborating self-employed and self-employed integrated in a civil or commercial company.
The bases with the specific requirements can be consulted on the municipal website and once they have exceeded the period of exposure to the public, the City Council will inform of the opening of the terms and ways to request them.
It is the third line of direct aid that the Xabiero Consistory has promoted since the beginning of the Covid crisis. First, it allocated 523.500 euros from the municipal budget to aid of 1.500 euros for the self-employed in sectors that had to close down during the first months of the health crisis (there were a total of 346 beneficiaries) and has also recently granted - with funds transferred from the Provincial Council - Another 17 grants to companies that saw their turnover reduced by 50% during those months.
Other measures to support the economy have been the abolition of the public road occupancy rate for 2020 and 2021, the suspension of the opening rate for 2021, as well as campaigns to stimulate consumption and tourism promotion.
On the social side, it has been endowed Servicios Sociales With 2 million euros for aid and needs derived from the pandemic, two social employment plans have been promoted with 8 jobs and adhered to regional plans that will mean another 76 contracts; Payment facilities have been articulated for taxes such as the IBI and rates in addition to water bills.
