This Friday, January 3 - at 20:30 p.m. at Church of St. Bartholomew- Xàbia opens the year 2020 with the music of Haizeak Ensemble, a group of young musicians that will present a program made up of different works for a XNUMXth century wind group, among which we find the Nielsen Quintet and the Six Bagatellas by Ligeti.

Haizeak Ensemble was formed in 2016 thanks to the enthusiasm and curiosity of five young people: Carme Català, flute; Rosa Alabort, oboe; Joaquín Sáez, clarinet; Pedro Úbeda, bassoon and Marc Gosálbez, trunk. The following years are dedicated to working together and looking for a unique sound. Finally and after these years of work, in April 2019 they decide to present their group officially and they do so with the creation of their first project: Stories.

Each member of the ensemble conducts their studies in different conservatories throughout Europe such as Rostock University of Music and Drama, Malmö Academy of Music and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya; and as a group, they plan to continue adding projects and increase their joint formation.

His goal has always been to try to surprise and reach the widest possible audience; Therefore, their versatility allows them to combine the five instruments and interpret pieces for groups other than the wind quintet, thus giving a different hue to each of their concerts or projects.

Haizeak Ensemble has received advice from experts such as Germán Guillen (Clarinet of the Municipal Band of Mallorca) and Jose Manuel Bañuls (Tenor Saxophone of the Fukio Saxophone Quartet). In addition, they attended various masterclass with different professionals such as Mauro Ruso (Bassoon of the Orchestra of the San Carlos Theater in Naples), Monica De Matteis (Santa Cecilia Council of Rome) or Nancy Braithwaite (Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory).
