This Friday, Xàbia ignited the spark of excitement, tradition, and celebration with the Pregó, the event that officially marks the start of the long-awaited Fogueres de Sant Joan.
The streets of the historic center, the Frechinal neighborhood, and the Thiviers neighborhood were filled with color and joy with the parade of the fifth-year students, the Youth Commission, and the young members of the Court of Honor, all accompanied by their officials.
Upon arrival at the Plaça de l'Església, a great festive atmosphere, with dozens of groups and hundreds of people singing, welcomed this year's protagonists. One of the most joyful moments was when the festival leaders appeared from the balconies of the church. Town HallThe audience's applause was the perfect prelude to the speech given by the Queen of the Bonfire, Ainhoa Buigues.
Ainhoa reminisced about her experience as the Children's Queen 10 years ago and shared the excitement she now feels during these festivities as a fifth-year queen. In her opening speech, she encouraged everyone to enjoy every event.
The event concluded with the performance of the Pasodoble Xàbia, a moment in which emotion took hold of those present and the official start of the Fogueres de Sant Joan 2025 was sealed. From now on, Xàbia will be immersed in days of gunpowder, music, traditions, and conviviality.
