Xàbia cuts access to the river and sea areas by the great storm of sea and wind

January 20 from 2020 - 11: 16

The Gorgos river flow is reaching its limit as it passes through Xàbia. After confirming that it has overflowed in the municipality of Jalón, Local Police and Civil Protection taking the maximum precautions in this situation.

All accesses to the river as well as to the maritime areas have been cut off to traffic and pedestrian crossings: first Montañar and Paseo de Duanes de la Mar that present a situation of multiple damages, as in the area of Cala Blanca and Arenal Beach, where the sea storm has swallowed the sand dam built days before.

It should be noted that although there has been damage to the Arenal with the displacement of the stone seats, its implementation has prevented further damage. In Cala Blanca There have also been numerous pieces of damage to wooden benches, promenades, and entrances to homes.

A situation that reminds us of the damage suffered in the 2017 storm.

The security forces ask that citizens do not approach the coastal strip and refrain from taking photos and videos to avoid risks. It is also recommended not to circulate or leave home unless necessary.

Ik wens of bewoners veel sterkte toe.
Gelukkig komt dit maar een enkele keer met zulke kracht in Javea voor.
