El Javea Town Hall has called for tomorrow Thursday an extraordinary session of the Municipal Council of Culture in which they will talk about the rehabilitation that the parish is carrying out in the church-fortress of San Bartolomé.
As the Councilor for Culture explains, Quico Moragues, the modification of the bell tower (an auction with battlements has been added) has generated doubts among the population about its historical justification and for this reason the City Council has transferred this social concern and requested information from both the technical direction of the project and the management General of Heritage - who is in charge of supervising this work due to the level of protection of this historic building and its listing as a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC).
It will be the architect responsible for the work, Salvador Vila, who will personally expose the details of the project and answer the questions of the representatives of the local culture. Mayor, José Chulvi, will also attend the meeting.
