El Javea Town Hall has held a meeting with representatives of three protective associations to seek ways of collaboration in the public health problem posed by the proliferation of colonies of stray cats.
Mayor, José Chulvi, And the Councilor for Services, Kika Mata, have met with Apasa, Feral Cat and Catland, collectives specifically sensitized on this issue and who ensure that the offspring born in the streets are rescued and find a foster home for them.
From the City Council they have been informed that this year, in addition to the subsidy of 3.700 euros that the Provincial Council has granted for sterilization campaigns, the City Council will contribute another 7.000 euros to reinforce a plan in which the authorized clinics will participate.
The municipal officials and the associations involved have agreed to work in a coordinated way to solve this situation, which is painful for the animals themselves and which also causes unhealthy problems.

My cats die every year in the summer, because the housing estates put poison for rats and cats easily hunt them and get poisoned. Every year I all lose a cat. If there were more cats in my development, the poisons would not be necessary and they would keep the rats at bay. I don't see cats anywhere anymore.
I believe that cats have the right to live freely. An excess of love for them causes the depopulation that all the mouse plagues bring us.
