Xàbia cancels the side that limited the working hours before PROVIA's appeal

El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, has informed today, through videoconference, both the media and the spokespersons of the municipal groups, the cancellation of the party that issued last Sunday in which it limited, from 8 to 15 hours, the working hours of construction and maintenance service companies while the State of Alarm is in effect.

This decision has been taken after the appeal for reversal presented by the Association of Real Estate Developers of the Province of Alicante (PROVIA), which indicates that the first mayor has exceeded his powers. The Javea Town Hall, as Chulvi has indicated, "We have withdrawn the side to avoid future lawsuits and stick to allocating resources to other issues of greater importance today such as the local economy."

The first mayor has indicated that the only intention from the municipal corporation with the issued side was "Protect the health of workers considering, in a rational and balanced way, that they carry out a 7-hour workday and at the same time respect the rest hours of the rest of the citizens, since they are 24 hours at home, and facilitate the tasks of circulation control ".

The mayor of Xàbia has mentioned that this complaint is given by a promoter from outside Jávea, "which in my opinion does not comply with the solidarity with which the rest of the local businessmen or citizens have adapted to the situation we are experiencing, there being cases in which they have completely stopped their activity, billing zero euros, facing layoffs or files of employment regulation ".

Likewise, the mayor, after communicating that the working hours side is null and void, has recommended to employers that, to the best of their ability, they concentrate their activity in the morning hours and that the established security measures are complied with.

José Chulvi has also thanked the support and dedication that the opposition is providing, as well as the councilors themselves to be able to make this health crisis more bearable with the contribution of proposals, measures and solutions.
