Xàbia will save more than 13.000 € per year with the installation of 130 led streetlights

The El Rafalet and Lepanto Street Duanes de la Mar will have a change of public lighting, as during these two weeks, the work of replacing luminaires for lamps LED technology is less polluting start and reduce consumption to a quarter, with the savings of 13.315 euros per year.

In total, 102 streetlights will be modified in the El Rafalet area, where work has already begun. Next week, 30 luminaires will be replaced on the Lepanto street and improvements will be made to the wiring and technological system.

This action is entirely subsidized by the Diputación de Alicante and has a budget of 46.510 euros. The works are supervised by the Provincial Agency of Energy in Alicante.

This lighting improvement project is independent of another of greater depth, with a budget of 750.000 euros from the remaining treasury of the company itself. Town hall, and in which work is being done at a technical level.

    Yes, we have fancy new LED street lights here in 2023, but no copper to power them. We are told there is no money to fix this problem, as many other urbanizations are affected by copper theft.

    I wonder if Xabia council will reduce the IBI as we are still in the dark after more than one year, this is utterly ridiculous. On top of this, I write this through intermittent power cuts, which means no running water. What is it with this region of Spain?, they can't keep the lights on, the water on, the internet……this is like living back in the 1970's, I know, I was there, but we pay our bills and the services are diabolical, nobody takes any responsibility, it's all "tomorrow" aka manana, or rather, "next year" is now the "new" manana……{{{sigh}}}
