Xàbia activates access control to coves, but for the moment without a fee for parking

23 June 2022 - 07: 13

The Department of the Environment and Beaches activates, this Thursday, June 23, the regulation system in the accesses to the coves of Portitxol and granadella.

As in recent years, a barrier has been installed on the access routes to the beaches. This bar will be lowered when the car park is complete in order to promote responsible and sustainable use of these natural spaces, avoiding collapses due to traffic and other situations of risk to the safety of the surroundings of the coves. The service is completed with informants both at the barrier and on the beach itself.

The barrier has also been installed in Ambolo to prevent vehicle access and inform that the cove is closed to the bathroom due to the risk of landslides.

Beach information channel

Coupled with this security surveillance and capacity control service on the coast, the Telegram channel 'XÀBIA INFO ESTADO BEACHES' is reactivated, where you can check if the capacity is already complete as well as the color of the beach flag. or any other incident.

Parking fee in the coves

As regards the other traffic regulation measure that was planned to activate the Town hall this summer in the coves -the collection of a fee for parking- is temporarily without application as the tender to hire a company to be in charge of its application has been abandoned.

People with reduced mobility always lose. We need to leave the car nearby and it is impossible. And I wonder why do they do so much tourist propaganda if it doesn't fit? I have been in Jávea for almost 60 years and I never thought it would become what it is today, uncontrolled and uncomfortable.
