The self-employed and mutual members of Xàbia can request, from tomorrow, Friday, August 7, the financial aid of 1.500 euros offered by the Town hall of the municipality to those affected by the restrictions of the State of Alarm decreed by the health crisis of COVID-19.
As explained by the mayor, José Chulvi, Xàbia has initially provided this direct aid item with 1 million euros from the City Council's own funds and has also provided another million and a half to expand it in case of need. It is therefore one of the highest amounts that have been budgeted for direct aid due to COVID-5 in the province of Alicante.
Applications can be submitted electronically (an advanced electronic signature is required) from August 7 at 9 am and for 10 business days through the website www.ajxabia.com.
The beneficiaries of this aid included within the Comprehensive Plan for the economic and social reactivation of the municipality (Recuperem Xàbia) may be self-employed workers (including members of commercial companies, communities of property and civil companies) who carry out business activities and are registered in the Special Scheme for Self-Employed or Mutual Workers, at least, the period between December 31, 2019 and March 14, 2020, and have suspended the activity or the opening to the public of premises and establishments such as consequence of the measures adopted by Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14. And that
said activity has not been offset by an increase in billing in the volume of online or telephone business of the applicant.

The Economic and Social Reactivation Plan approved unanimously by the City Council of Xàbia with the aim of helping the residents of Xàbia to overcome the situation caused by the health crisis of COVID-19 includes, in addition to direct aid, other economic promotion measures such as a job maintenance program after the summer for companies and the self-employed, tax measures such as the temporary suspension of the payment of fees or discounts and the abolition of the tax for the occupation of public roads and the possibility of expanding the hotel terraces.
