The Castellón town of Atzeneta del Maestrat put the finishing touch to the Open Marathon of the Valencian Community last Sunday.
The At-zenet Cycling Club prepared a route of seventy kilometers and two thousand meters of positive unevenness that passed under the gaze of Peñagolosa. Bikers enjoyed perfect organization and a path with ups and downs demanding rock characteristics of the Mediterranean area.
At half past eight in the morning they would take the exit Alicia Margalejo y Ade Moll. Alicia was strong in the first stages holding her rivals until the second provisioning station located in Benifagos, where on the descent she put land in the middle and managed to distance herself by making the remaining forty kilometers alone to take her first victory as a regional champion.
Ade was in the fight for the victory until the last kilometers of the route where he had to yield the rhythm imposed by the winner and enter as second classified of the general to only nineteen seconds of the first.
Next weekend the team will participate in the UCI Marathon Series tournament in Girona, the Tramun singletrackmarathon.
